Electronic products are increasingly being controlled by embedded software to meet the growing need for greater flexibility and more features. The embedded software enables the user to set up the product by defining values for a number of parameters. The consequence for the manufacturer is an increased time and cost for developing and maintaining the setup and control software for the product. Furthermore, to keep pace with the market, the manufacturer continuously has to introduce new products and product variants.

Features and benefits
- Always fast and correct answers: The configurator always gives fast and correct answers according to the specified rules: All answers are tabulated in the virtual table. The configurator responds by looking up in the table and will never have to provide inaccurate answers.
- Intuitive user interface: Configit Control Manager enables a very flexible interaction with the end-user. The user is presented with only relevant parameters and valid selections, and can make choices in any order and is guided by immediate feedback on allowable selections.
- Extremely compact: Virtual tables with billions of correct parameter combinations require typically a few kilobytes of memory. Configit Control Manager is also very compact, making it possible to store virtual tables and the lookup software on devices with embedded electronics.
- Separation of business logic and application development: The constraints between the parameters of a product are specified separately from the presentation of the parameters. This allows for easy maintenance since the constraints can be modified without having to change anything in the presentation software.
- Generic setup software: Configit Control Manager determines the consequences of selecting a value for a parameter, dramatically simplifying the setup software. The setup software needs only to present the values returned by the Control Manager.
- High-level product modelling language: By using a modular, structured, and strongly typed programming language with a well-defined meaning it is possible to build large product models without loosing the overview.
- Complete freedom in ordering and formulation of rules: Product models are made on the customers' premises, not on the software's. When creating the product model, the rules are phrased in a way which is most convenient to the definer of the product model to ensure its accuracy. No matter how the product model is formulated, the software delivers maximum performance.
- Easy maintenance of the rules when developing new product variants: Variants are handled by writing a single parameterized product model which captures all product variants.
